The Ombudsman participated in the voting process during the early presidential elections

The Ombudsman, Sabina Aliyeva, casted her vote at polling station No. 13 of the 23rd Nasimi-Sabail election district.

Following the voting, during an interview with journalists, the Ombudsman provided information about the measures taken by the Ombudsman Office during the early presidential elections. The Ombudsman stated that, in collaboration with the Central Election Commission (CEC), awareness-raising events on "Ensuring Citizens' Voting Rights" were organized in Baku, Ganja, Sheki, Masalli, Guba, and Nakhchivan.

"We observed that the necessary conditions envisaged by legislation for the implementation of the voting rights of our citizens living in these territories have been created in 26 new polling stations established in the liberated territories. It is noteworthy that the presidential elections, which are of great importance for our state, are held for the first time in all the territories of our sovereign country, including our liberated territories," said S. Aliyeva referring to the observations conducted in new polling stations created across the country, including the liberated territories. 

Furthermore, it was said that, benefiting from the good experience of previous years, the Ombudsman, along with 60 staff members of the Ombudsman Office and regional centers, including 12 staff members of the Ombudsman Office of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, independently conduct observations, on their own initiative, during the early presidential elections in the polling stations, including stations established in military units, penitentiary institutions, and other closed institutions. “Today, every hour, each of our obesrvers transfer the information they gather on-site to the Ombudsman, and this information is promptly delivered to the CEC and the Commission’s Information Center via the media”.
