Ombudsman Sabina Aliyeva visited the Heydar Aliyev Azerbaijan Cultural Center in Uzbekistan

An event was organized at the Azerbaijani Cultural Center named after Heydar Aliyev in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, on the occasion of June 18 – Human Rights Day in Azerbaijan. During her visit to Uzbekistan, the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ms. Sabina Aliyeva attended the event together with a delegation led by her.

Mr. Huseyn Guliyev, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan to Uzbekistan, employees of the Azerbaijan Cultural Center, and the Azerbaijanis living in Uzbekistan attended the event as well.

Prior to the event, Ombudsman Sabina Aliyeva visited the monument to Heydar Aliyev at the Cultural Center and paid tribute to his memory. Afterward, the Ombudsman also visited the "Garden of Martyrs" dedicated to the memory of the martyrs of the Patriotic War between Armenia and Azerbaijan in the courtyard of the Center and commemorated the memory of our martyrs.

During her speech at the event, the Ombudsman spoke about the history of this significant day and congratulated our compatriots. Later she briefed on the reforms carried out at the national level to more effectively protect human rights.

By the end of the event, cultural performance was demonstrated.
