Events dedicated to the International Day for Protection of Children were launched in the regions

Ganja, Sheki, Guba, and Jalilabad Regional Centers of the Ombudsman of Azerbaijan organized events on the occasion of June 1 – International Day for Protection of Children within the framework of Human Rights Month-long Campaign.

Ganja Regional Center launched a legal awareness event jointly with the city Integrated Training Boarding Gymnasium. Before the event, the participants got acquainted with the drawings on child rights by the gymnasium students and watched the students' dance performance. In addition, a staff member of the Regional Center attended an event organized by the Ganja Center for Childhood Creativity and Development.

Furthermore, the Sheki Regional Center of the Ombudsman held a similar online meeting with teaching staff and children at the Sheki City Integrated Training type Boarding Gymnasium and Mixed Type Orphanage. As well, the Head of Regional Center took part in the videoconference titled "Children are our future", organized by the Sheki City Executive Power.

The Guba Regional Center of the Ombudsman also held an awareness-raising event for children at the Guba City Secondary Boarding School for Children Deprived of Parental Care and the Special Vocational School. In addition, the head of this Regional Center participated in a webinar organized by Guba city Regional NGO Resource and Training Center.

Alike, the Jalilabad Regional Center of the Ombudsman launched an educational event on the topic "Caring for children is caring for the future of the people!" with the Masalli Biological Medicine Clinic, Jalilabad City Technical-Humanitarian Lyceum No. 8, Lankaran Mixed-Type Orphanage named after O.Mirzayev and Integrated Boarding Gymnasium.

During the events, it was said that the rights of children as a part of vulnerable groups of the population are at the center of attention of the Ombudsman. The participants were also informed about the activities of the Ombudsman aimed at ensuring the rights of the child, also about the establishment of a new Child Rights Protection Unit at the Institution.
