A social support project was realized at the initiative of the Ombudsman on the eve of Novruz holiday

On the initiative of the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ms. Sabina Aliyeva, a social support campaign was organized for people in the penitentiary, health, social and educational institutions, as well as low-income families on the occasion of Novruz holiday.

The staff members of the Ombudsman Office met with detainees at the Juvenile Correctional Facility, Penitentiary No. 4 for Female Prisoners, and the Shelter and Social Rehabilitation Facility for Vulnerable groups of population and presented them with gifts.

Representatives of the Ombudsman received five people at the Correctional Facility, and their appeals were heard.

On the eve of the holiday, the regional centers of the Ombudsman also organized meetings with vulnerable groups in the regions they cover.

Staff members of Ganja Regional Center of the Ombudsman visited Ganja Boarding house and Ganja Orphanage, staff members of Jalilabad Regional Center visited Lankaran Mixed-type Boarding school named after O.Mirzayev and Lankaran Inter-District Psychiatric Hospital. Representatives of the Sheki Regional Center visited Sheki District Psychiatric Institution, Sheki Mixed-Type Boarding School and Integrated Training-type Gymnasium, as well as the staff members of Guba Regional Center visited the Guba Special Vocational School, a boarding school for children deprived of parental care and the Guba Inter-District Psychoneurological Center.

The Ombudsman's congratulations were conveyed and holiday gifts were presented to the people living in these institutions.
