Jalilabad Regional Center of Ombudsman held an online event during the Child Rights Month-Long Campaign

Within the frames of the Child Rights Month-long campaign announced by the Ombudsman from October 20 to November 20, Jalilabad Regional Center of Ombudsman held an online awareness event on the topic “Children’s rights as an important part of human rights” in Lankaran City Mixed type Children’s home named after O.Mirzayev.

The head of the Regional Center, Z.Ismayilov congratulating all participants upon the World Children’s Day during his speech noted that children are in the focus of the Ombudsman as a vulnerable population group and briefed the essence of the campaign.

Furthermore, the participants were given wide information about the international legal documents, including the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, UN  Convention on the Rights of the Child, and the national Constitution. In the course of the the meeting, they also discussed the Law of Azerbaijan on the Rights of the Child, the Ombudsman's activities in the field of child rights, her relevant proposals made for further protection of child rights, the Hierarchic Education on Child Rights project, its importance, as well as international child rights protection mechanisms.

At the meeting, it was also said that the Ombudsman Institute runs a “916” call center, through which children also can reach the Ombudsman.
