Jalilabad Regional Center of the Ombudsman conducted an online meeting on national and religious tolerance, peace-loving and humanistic values

Jalilabad Regional Center of the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan jointly with Lankaran City Department of the State Committee on Religious Associations, City Department of Caucasian Muslims Office and City Youth and Sport Department launched an online meeting on the topic “Promoting National and Religious Tolerance, Peace-loving and Humanistic Values among Young People”. The representatives from the abovementioned bodies and active young people have participated in the event. 

The main purpose of the meeting was discussing how to cultivate properly a spirit of religious tolerance, national and moral values and tolerance as a state policy in the young people and to increase their awareness on human rights. 

During the meeting, the Head of the Regional Center Mr. Ziya Ismayilov delivered a speech on the topic “Raising awareness of young people about human rights and gender equality and taking precautionary measures to prevent antisocial behavior among young people”. It was also noted that positive steps had been taken to promote the humanistic values and peace among the youth of the regions as considered also in the State Program “Azerbaijani youth in 2017-2021” approved by the President of Azerbaijan on September 15, 2017.
