A legal-educational event, “Mental Health and Human Rights” was organized in Gazakh

According to the action plan approved by the Ombudsman, Sabina Aliyeva, the Ombudsman’s West Regional Center held a legal educational event, "Mental Health and Human Rights" for the employees of the Gazakh Psychiatric Hospital.

During his speech, Sabuhi Abbasov, the head of the Regional Center, informed the participants on the activities carried out for protecting the rights of people living with mental health problems and ensuring their rehabilitation. He noted that the Ombudsman created a relevant working group on "Mental Health and Human Rights," under the Ombudsman Office.

In the course of the event, the participants were comprehensively informed about the Ombudsman's NPM mandate, as well as the last amendments to the Constitutional Law 

“On the Ombudsman of Azerbaijan," the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Psychiatric Care," and the application of the noted acts into practice. The questions of the participants were answered.
