The Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) Ms. Sabina Aliyeva pays specific attention to the protection of the rights of various groups of the population, including women and children.
Some days ago, at late hours, a woman resident of Imishli District called the Ombudsman’s Call Center 916 saying that she was affected by the domestic violence and that she was at risk and remained in the street with her two minor kids.
Ombudsman immediately appealed to the District Executive Office and Police Station, and as a result of the prompt reaction of those authorities to the matter, the mother and children were quickly found and taken under the protection and placed in the appropriate facility to stay the night. Afterward, following the documentation procedure, the woman and her children were placed in the social service institution of the Social Services Agency.
According to the instructions of Ms. Sabina Aliyeva, the issue was kept under control. The representatives of the Ombudsman met with the mother and her children at the social-care facility and inquired about their detention conditions, health, psychological condition, and protection of their rights.
